On stage two performers are to perform their solo concert that happens at the same time. On the left side a backup singer, on the right side of stage a violinist. Each aims to perform their own performance, creating a dazzling and intense acoustic experience that accumulates into a burst of multiple sensations. Pulse is a performance with music, singing and dance in form of a performative concert. Inspired by the composition of chanson baladée (a dancing song), normally known as a slow song about love, the choreographer creates a composition of juxtapositions inherent to pulse. Through a sense of rhythm, and focus of Pulse the spectator is drawn to sense own body.
"Performative concert (Pulse) is a form of performance that is created on the stage as a process of setting-up and striking-down a concert, actions asociated to teh notion of exhibition. It is a work of a composition of stage elements (from objects to performers) in terms of setting up and connecting concert elements to act as exhibits. The art and the form of the staging takes place according to the exhibition concept, as a play of meanings that this concept can take (forms of exhibition, exhibition, exhibitionism, poetics of exhibition as a test, and as a performance). is based on the idea of connecting and separating, interference and purity, and chaos and order. The structure tries to mimic the diagram and the dynamics of the heartbeat. In the performance (Pulse) I was interested in the various details of personal expression, confession, composition and the installation of them into space and time. Here I wanted to express the idea of the composition of the ballad, originally a dance song. I was interested in the aesthetics of "putting into the space" (mis-en-scene) as a way of stage action, associating it with formality and purity, as an example of nudity and association to a void in which the senses can echo. The aesthetics of the bare stage action is generally speaking an interest of mine, yet on the other hand, I am interested in the exact friction that this aesthetics can cause when performing emotional stage experiences based on the authenticity of the moment and the authenticity of the feeling. It is precisely this relationship that is interesting here because it begins to create a particular sensation of elasticity of space and time."
"Performativni koncert (Pulse) je oblika predstave, ki nastaja na odru kot process postavljanja in razstavljanja koncerta. Delo je kompozicija odrskih elementov (od predmetov do nastopajočih) v smislu postavljanja in povezovanja koncertnih elementov, s katerimi se ravna kot z razstavnimi eksponati. Način in oblika uprizoritve se nastopa po konceptu exhibition, kot igra pomenov ki jih ta pojem lahko zavzame ( oblike razstavljanja, postavljanja, exhibiticionizem, poetika ekshibicije kot izpoved, in kot nastop). Skozi slednje uprizoritvene teme in načine nastopanja se ustvarja kompleksna koreografska struktura, ki temelji na ideji povezovanja in ločevanja, interference in cistosti, ter kaosa in reda. Struktura poskusa posnemati diagram in dinamiko srčnega utripa. V predstavi Pulse so me zanimali raznovrstni detajli osebnega izrazanja ter vrste izpovedi, in kompozicija, ter postavitev le teh v prostor in cas. Tukaj sem zelel izrazit idejo o kompoziciji balade, kot izvirno plesne pesmi. Zanimala me je estetika postavljanja v prostor (mis-en-scene) kot nacin odrske akcije, ki mi je na nek poseben nacin asociiralo na formalnost in cistost, kot primer golosti in asociacije na praznino, v kateri odmevajo obcutki. Estetika gole odrske akcije me v splosnem zelo zanima, po drugi strani pa me zanima ravno trenje, ki ga ta estetika lahko povzroci kadar se skozi njo govori in uprizarja emotivne odrske izkusnje, ki so zasnovane na avtenticnosti trenutka in avtenticnosti obcutka. Ravno ta odnos je tukaj zanimiv, ker pricne ustvarjati posebnen obcutek elastizacije prostora in casa."
